On June 7th, 2008 the Young Marines came to help us out. After a tour of our facility the Marines went to work clearing invasive vines from choking the life out of important trees on the property. They worked diligently, pulling, digging and cutting vines until they had filled 15 bags with vines and saved many trees. Each Marine was given information sheets about the importance of trees in the environment for a healthy planet. What a wonderful group of young people. They were such a big help to us and our trees and we certainly hope that they will return to help again. The Young Marines is a youth education and service program for boys and girls, ages 8 through completion of high school.
